Ms. Pat (Camp/Class Manager and Parent Liaison)
I have been working as camp manager at the Annapolis Musical Theater Co.'s summer camp for 8 years. I am a retired teacher who taught Language Arts, Reading, and English as a Second Language to all ages of children for 38 years. Having always enjoyed being around children and teaching them, I am so thrilled to be a part of this camp. Watching the kids grow as they dance, sing, act, and participate in set design is such an exciting experience. We are planning to have another great camp and fantastic final performance this summer.
Ms. Boo (Summer Camp Set Director and Master Artist)
I have been working as the Set Director at Annapolis Musical Theater Co. for more than 10 years, creating backdrops and stage sets. I enjoy the challenge and adventure of each year. I have spent my entire life as an artist working in different media, including drawing, painting and sculpture, but these huge projects which fill the stage, give me the greatest satisfaction. The campers love to work with me, getting "in up to their elbows" and losing themselves in the projects. When it all comes together at the end of 2 weeks it is very exciting and seems miraculous, especially to me.
Ms. Megan (Summer Camp Assistant Director and Teaching Artist)
Megan King is a budding theater artist currently in her Junior year of college studying her craft at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. She has been both a student and a staff member for AMTC's summer camp for several years. She was the Assistant Director for Into the Woods, Jr. in 2017 and for Oliver!, Jr. in 2018. This year she will again serve as the Assistant Director and Teacher at camp. She loves showing kids the beauty and wonder of storytelling as well as helping them discover and develop their skills in acting, voice, and dance. Working with these children has inspired her to continue learning her craft in order to spark interest in the performing arts in others. Some of her favorite performance credits include Glinda in The Wiz (AMTC's Summer Camp); Archibald, Earl of Douglass in Shakespeare's Henry IV; and the Bellboy in Titanic the Musical. Some of her backstage credits including working as the Lighting technician for Ile by Eugene O'Neil, the Lighting Designer for The Dancers by Horton Foote, and Stage Crew for The Rainmaker by N. Richard Nash. She is very excited to have lots of fun with the children again this summer.
